Kalam arrives tomorrow on a three-day visit to Orissa

Bhubaneswar, July 01 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam will arrive here tomorrow on a three-day visit to Orissa.

Official sources said the President will arrive here from Delhi tomorrow evening and proceed to Bhubaneswar Eye Institute to interact with the doctors there before inaugurating it on July 3.

The President will visit Berhampur next morning to attend the Platinum Jubilee Celebration of the City High School from where he would proceed to Mahuda to inaugurate the Silver Jubilee Celebration of the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, a unit of Ganjam and Phulbani Chemist Druggist Association.

Mr Kalam would inaugurate the Acharaya Prafulla Chandra Ray Memorial Cancer Chemotherapeutic Research unit there and address the national symposium on--Drug Molecules: Discovery and Delivery System.

He would return to the state capital in the afternoon and inaugurate the newly constructed Governor's conference hall inside the Raj Bhawan.

The President would then inaugurate the Bhubaneswar Eye Institute, a unit of L V Prasad Eye Institute of Hyderabad and lay the foundation stone of NTPC-Eye Diabetes Centre, NTPC sight Enhancement Centre and NTPC Eye Trauma Centre. The NTPC had provided financial assistance to the tune of Rs 2.25 crore for the purpose.

On July 4 morning, Mr Kalam would visit the Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO)'s Testing Range at the Wheeler Island inside the Bay of Bengal and address the defence scientists there.
