Free medicine facility, a landmark decision - Shekhawat
Patna, July 1 (UNI) Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat today lauded the Bihar government for providing free medicines for all patients in its hospitals and said it was a landmark decision which would set an example for other states.
After kicking off the special scheme in the state capital, Mr Shekhawat said it would prove to be a milestone at a time when the medicine prices were soaring and would bring a revolution in the state.
The government had made arrangements to provide free medicine to the patients of all sections, he said.
He dubbed the scheme as people orientedand said it was for the first time that a state had initiated such a nobleprogramme.
Mr Shekhawat expressed concern over the frequent outbreak of Kalazar which had taken a toll in Bihar.
To make the programme a success, he suggested the government to strictly prevent misuse of medicines available free of cost in the hospitals and urged the doctors to cooperate.
