Former International cricket umpire Padmakar Pandit passes away
Nagpur, July 1 (UNI) Former International Cricket umpire Padmakar Pandit today passed away at a private hospital here, where he was admitted after a road accident last night.
He was 72.
Mr Pandit, who was driving home on his scooter last night, was hit by a car near Vidhan Bhavan. He was admitted to the hospital with severe head injuries where he succumbed to his injuries this afternoon.
Mr Pandit officiated as an umpire in nine one-day internationals between 1983 and 1988 and many domestic events including Ranji trophy, Irani trophy, Duleep among others.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, a brother and three sisters.
