Fake currency modules busted, 3 arrested
Lucknow, July 1 (UNI) Police has busted two fake currency modules in Agra and Pilibhit districts of Uttar Pradesh with the arrest of three persons and seizure of over Rs 1.34 lakh in illegal tender.
Special Operations Group (SOG) sleuths arrested Updesh Saxena in Amria area of Pilibhit yesterday evening and recovered Rs 1.05 lakh in fake Indian currency, police today said.
Equipment used in the illicit trade including printer, fax machine, scanner and copiers were also seized.
Police said the accused had confessed that he operated from a rented accomodation at Rudrapur in Uttaranchal.
In another case, Ajay Singh and Shailendra Kumar Verma were arrested in Sadar bazaar area of Agra yesterday.
Fake Indian currency totalling Rs 29,640 was confiscated from their possession. However, their aide -- Dilip Yadav -- managed to escape.
