Cong CMs to meet to discuss price rise
New Delhi, July 1 (UNI) Close on the heels of the CWC meet expressing concern over the price rise, a meeting of the Chief Ministers of the Congress-ruled states has been convened here sometime next week with the specific agenda to discuss soaring prices.
A formal announcement about the exact date of the meeting, likely to be held at Congress President Sonia Gandhi's residence, will be made tomorrow, highly placed sources said here today.
The sources disclosed that another Chief Minister's conclave was also expected to be held in a couple of months, after the monsoon session of Parliament is over, to discuss various issues, including the price rise.
The party had on Thursday discussed in depth the issue of price rise in the meeting of the CWC, its highest policy making body, and directed the government to take effective measures, properly monitoring demand and supply position of the essential commodities to provide relief to the common man.
The proposed meeting of the Chief Ministers is in pursuance of a suggestion made in the CWC meet.
