The development package clearly indicated the positive attitude of the Centre towards border area development, the APCC quoted state Chief Minister Gegong Apang, APCC president Mukut Mithi, APCC working presidents Takam Sanjoy and Nabam Tuki as saying.

AICC President Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who chairs the cabinet committee on security, Defence Minister Pranab Mukharjee, Home Minister Shivraj Patil and Finance Minister P Chidambaram contributed to the development of the border areas, the release added.
