AMRI plans hospital for NRIs
Kolkata, Jul 01 (UNI) The AMRI group is planning to set up a hospital exclusively for NRIs and foreign patients at Rajarhat.
The group has asked for 10 acres of land from Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO).
''The concept is based on hospitals in Singapore and other South East Asian countries, which attract global patients for treatment,'' Brigadier S B Purakayastha of AMRI said.
The hospital will have specialist sections for cardiac surgery, orthopedic operations, cosmetic surgery and urology, Purakayastha said.
The hospital is talking to foreign agencies for bringing patients from UK, Canada, France and Holland to AMRI.
The hospital will also offer healthcare facilities to persons accompanying the patients, he said.
''We expect to begin construction by next year after the land is acquired. We will send a proposal to the state government for approval,'' he said.
