10 kgs 'charas' seized, 2 arrested

Aligarh, July 1: Two persons were arrested possessing 10 kgs 'charas' (marijuana) in Delhi Gate area here, police said.

A patrol party on Thursday apprehended Awdhesh of Agra district in Uttar Pradesh and Bhau of Gujarat loitering suspiciously near the tri-section.

On frisking, the psychotropic substance -- estimated at Rs 10 lakh -- was found in their possession.

Later, the duo confessed they had picked up the contraband at Etawah, which was to be delivered to their contact Salim here.
