Uma says BJP, Cong will join forces in MP

Gwalior, June 30 (UNI) Bharatiya Janshakti (BJ) President Uma Bharti has claimed that Madhya Pradesh would witness a situation in which the Congress and BJP would join hands against her party for government formation.

''The situation might be replicated in neighbouring Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. Former BJP chief L K Advani hinted at a combine with the Congress during his recent 'yatra','' the firebrand sadhvi told UNI.

Responding to a question, the former Madhya Pradesh chief minister -- who worshipped at the Shitla Mata shrine in nearby Satau -- said she wanted a change of guard and not a mid-term poll in this state.

''It is not our desire that the Congress benefits from the present situation. That party is just waiting for a ripe fruit to drop into its hands,'' Ms Bharti alleged.

Regarding her earlier statement that she would topple the Shivraj Singh Chouhan regime by October, the sanyasin said October was still far away.

''The government is fearful of my deadline and that is revealed by the 'emergency operation' whereby the MLAs' fund was doubled.

Every legislator is being summoned and asked whether he or she has any problem. Prior to toppling the regime, we wish to form BJ units at village panchayat level and I will undertake tours,'' she explained.
