Two nabbed for circulating fake currency
Mumbai, June 30 (UNI) Two people were arrested by the city police on the charge of circulating fake currency in the eastern suburb of Govandi and seized nine notes of Rs 500 denomination from them.
Police today said acting on a tip-off, they laid a trap and caught the duo when they entered a shop at Govandi with fake currency yesterday.
They were identified as Mohamemd Yusuf Ishaq Ansari (28) and Ashok Shekhar Poojari (22), police said.
During interrogation, they revealed that the fake currency was given to them by one Amir Burunkar (30).
A fake currency case has been registered against them and further investigations are on, police added.
