Turn system introduced for Cauvery, Vennar water

Thanjavur, June 30 (UNI) A turn system of water supply for the delta areas from River Cauvery and Vennar has been introduced from this evening, according to PWD sources.

Under the turn system, the first turn water supply was from the Vennar for six days from this evening and afterwards, water supply would be given from Cauvery river for the next six days.

The turn system would operate from Grand Anaicut, from where the delta districts of Thanjavur, Thiruvayur and Nagappattinam got water.

Regarding Grand Anaicut Canal constant water supply was allowed without turn system, the PWD source added.
