Stone India forays into ASEAN market

New Delhi, June 30 (UNI) Locomotive parts maker Stone India today said it has forayed into the ASEAN Railway market, with the appointment of Malaysia's Telewira Tegas SDN BHD, as its exclusive agent for Turnkey Project work.

The project work will relate to Freight Car, Passenger Coach and Locomotive upgradation&maintenance for Malaysian Railways, a company statement said.

The company has also entered into a separate agreement with Malaysia's SMH Rail SDN BHD to transfer technology for CKD assembly and testing of selective Air Brake Components in Malaysia for supplying products for the Turnkey project.

This agreement will thereby make the overall project offer more attractive to the Malaysian Railways.

The company expects to procure the initial orders from Malaysian Railways during the current financial year.
