Sensex delights all, moves up by 377 points

Mumbai, Jun 30: The BSE sensitive index (Sensex) has enlivened the sentiment of the investors with a rocking performance since morning.

Currently, the Sensex is up by 376.58 points and is trading at 10,538.74. The energy is attributed to the firm global performance after US Federal interest rate hike and also to 90-100 per cent rainfall prediction for the month of July and August by the meterological deaprtment.

The midcap, smallcap and FMCG sectors have led the growth on the BSE.

Major gainers on the index in the intra-noon trade were- HLL up by 7.38 per cent, Reliance Communications up by 6.91 per cent, Maruti up by 6.38 per cent, Hinbdalco by 6.00 per cent, Tata Motors by 5.18 per cent, L&T by 4.59 per cent, BHEL by 4.35 per cent, and all others were up by 0.5 to 4.0 per cent on the BSE 30 sensitive index (Sensex).

There were no losers on the index for the current trade.

The S&P CNX IT was down by 1.91 per cent to 3832.45 points and CNX 500 was up by 0.16 per cent to 2463.25 points.
