Jammu, Jun 30 (UNI) Indian in a goodwill gesture, has released four top Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militants, involved in subversive activities in different parts of Jammu and Kashmir, with other Pakistani nationals from various jails.

Release of militants and other Pakistan nationals, who crossed the border via Wagha in Amritsar, was a part of the peace process and confidence building measures (CBMs) between India and Pakistan, official sources said here.

Four HM militants of Pakistan have been identified as Abdul Nissar Khan son of Abdul Sakar Khan, a resident of Islamabad, Mohammad Shah son of Mohd Qasim, a resident of Kasoor, Farooq Ahmed son of Mohd Sadiq, resident of Sialkot and Nadeem Abbasi son of Yusuf Abbasi a resident of Barsalla, Muzaffarabad in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Sources said the militants had crossed over to J&K from Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara and Poonch district about six to seven years back. They were arrested during last two to three years and were sentenced for offences committed by them.
