Rawatbhata's fifth unit to become critical from Mar next year

Kota, June 30 (UNI) The underconstruction fifth unit of Rawatbhata Atomic Power Plant (RAPP) will become critical from March 2007.

The sixth unit of RAPP is expected to become critical from February, 2008.

RAPP's director S P Jhamb said all efforts are being made to complete the construction of these units before time to ensure cost saving and also to start production of power as early as possible.

Mr Jhamb said after the 220 MW fifth unit becomes critical in March, the commercial production of power is expected to start fom August next year. The civil work of the fifth unit is about to be completed.
