Ram Janamabhumi case posted to July 12

Rae Bareli, June 30: The Babri Masjid demolition case hearing was today posted to July 12 as there was no judge to hear the case in the special CBI court here.

Special CBI judge V K Singh, who was hearing the case, was transferred recently but no judge has taken his place so far.

Leader of Opposition Lal Krishna Advani, former union ministers Uma Bharti, Murli Manohar Joshi, BJP general secretary Vinay Katiyar, VHP leader Ashok Singhal are among the eight accused in the case 198/92 involving the demolition of the disputed structure on December 6,1992.

Under the supplementary chargesheet filed at the Rae Bareli court, the eight accused face charges under section 153A, 153B (spreading communal frenzy), 147, 149 (rioting and committing a crime) and 505 (creating ill will) of the IPC.

While, case no 197/92 against 26 kar sewaks was being heard at the special court at Lucknow, case no 198/92 against eight BJP leaders was proceeding at the special court in Rae Bareli.
