Panic prevailed at CST railway station due to bomb hoax

Mumbai, June 30 (UNI) A panicky situation prevailed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) of Central Railway (CR) this afternoon as a bag was found lying unclaimed raising suspicion of containing a bomb.

However, it turned out to be a hoax later.

This is the second bomb hoax in CST railway premises during last couple of months.

CR spokesperson A K Singh said at around 1415 hrs an unclaimed bag was noticed in the CST railway station premises. The Bomb Disposal Squad and dog sniffer squad were put into the action. After about 45 minutes search operation, the bag was found containing only clothes.

At 1458 hrs, when the Bomb Disposal Squad declared that there was no explosive material in the bag, the situation returned to normalcy, he added.
