Mukherjee demands arechery gold medals from JAA archers

Jamshedpur, Jun 30 (UNI) Jharkhand Archery Association (JAA) president Tridib Mukherjee today assured archers of all sorts of help to continue good performance in the international circuit.

Felicitating the winners of the first Fita Meteksan Archery Championship, held at Porecin Croatia from May 9 to 13 this year, Mr Mukherjee said, ''JAA will extend all support to the archers by providing best equipment and imparting training by competent coaches. But the asscociation demanded that the archers should come back with gold medals.'' ''The archers of JAA should set target to secure the top position in India and help India to become number one in the world,'' Mr Mukherjee, also the Deputy Managing Director of Tata Steel said.

Promising archer of Tata Archery Association (TAA) Jayant Talukdar won the gold medal in the Recurve section in Croatia while the women's team comprising Jhanu Hansda, Sakro Besra and Manjudha Soy won the silver medal.

Speaking on the occasion, secretary of JAA Sanjeeva Singh highlighted the performance of the JAA during the last ten years.

He also said the junior Indian archers would take part in the Asian Circuit Tournament to be held in Malayasia from July 21 to 25.

While the Commonwealth game would be held in the first week of November here, he said.
