Mahatma Gandhi's guidance remains source of inspiration: PM
Nagpur, June 30 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, during his two-day tour to Vidarbha in Maharashtra, today visited Sevagram in Wardha district and spent more than three hours at 'Bapu Kutir' ashram, where Mahatma Gandhi stayed during his lifetime.
''This sacred Ashram recalls the high noon of freedom struggle under the guidance of Mahatma Gandhi. It has been and forever remains a source of impiration for coming generation of our people and indeed for the entire world,'' Dr Singh wrote a messege in a visitors book kept in the Ashram.
Addressing the inmates of the Ashram, he recalled Gandhiji's thought of simple living and high thinking and advised the inmates to follow this concept of Gandhji in their life.
Maharashtra Legislative Council Chairman Pramod Shende , Wardha district in-charge minister Vasant Purake and Collector E Z Khobragade welcomed the Prime Minister when he visited the ashram.
Khadi Gramodhyog President Dr Vibha Gupta took Dr Singh around the ashram and apprised him of the daily activities of Mahatma Gandhi.
He also participated in the prayer and had a glimpse at the huge 'pipal' tree planted by Mahatma Gandhi in the premises of the Ashram.
