Lt Gen Mohan Pande new DG Military Operations
New Delhi, June 30 (UNI) Lt Gen Mohan Pande is the next Director General Military Operations of the Indian Army.
He takes over charge tomorrow from Lt Gen Madan Gopal, who retires after an illustrious career of 39 years, a Defence Ministry release said here today An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Lt Gen Pande was commissioned into the Mahar Regiment in 1968.
He commanded the Tiger Division during Operation 'Parakram' and was awarded the Vishisht Seva Medal for his outstanding contribution.
He was Chief of Staff, Headquarters Army Training Command before being posted as Director General Military Operations.
During his illustrious career, the General Officer held varied command and instructional assignments to include Brigade Major of a Brigade, Colonel General Staff of a Mountain Division and Additional Director General Operational Logistics at Army Headquarters.
