JKP announce reward of Rs 5 lakh on Pakistani militant

Srinagar, June 30 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Police today announced a reward of Rs five lakh on a Pakistani militant of the banned Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit.

Addressing a news conference here, Director General of Police (DGP) Gopal Sharma said a reward of Rs five lakh has been announced for capturing Salahudin alias Bilal alias Haider, a resident of Pakistan.

Salahuddin is the LeT chief operational commander in Jammu and Kashmir, he added.

An exceptionally tall man standing at 6.5 ft, Salahuddin looks after the whole LeT network in Jammu and Kashmir and has masterminded most of the suicide attacks in the Valley, Mr Sharma said.

Mr Sharma said Salahuddin was at present believed to be hiding at Sumblar in Bandipora area of north Kashmir's Baramulla district.

During the past six months last year, there were five 'fidayeen' (suicide) attacks in Kashmir, he added.

He said this year there was only one suicide attack.

Mr Sharma claimed that Salahudin was the mastermind of several such suicide attacks.

He said the reward would be for the police and security force personnel as well.
