Srinagar, June 30 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Vigilance Organisation today caught red handed with bribe an official of the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD), an official spokesman said.

He said Bashir Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Zadipora, Kulgam, and working as CAPD Supervisor, Mirhama Circle in Kulgam Tehsil was arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs 1000 from Mudasir Ahmad Wani, a licensed ration dealer of Mirhama.

The money was demanded by the accused as commission on the total monthly sale proceeds of ration, certifying the sales statement and also for releasing the quota for the next month in his favour.

The spokesman said a case has been registered in this regard.
