Shimla, Jun 30 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh High Court today granted two weeks more time to the Committee to submit its report on alleged irregularities in the Combined Pre-medical Test (CPMT) conducted by the HP University for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in the state.

The court, in its order, granted time to the committee, which informed it that since the record pertaining to the case were voluminous and inquiry had to carried out at Shimla, Hamirpur Mandi and Dharamshala, which required more time.

The committee was constituted by the High Court amidst allegations of large scale bungling in the conduct of CPMT after the Action Committee of Aggrieved Students and Parents moved the court, alleging that some candidates by adopting unfair and unscrupulous means had made it to the merit list, edging out the meritorious and deserving candidates.

On the progress made, so far, in the inquiry, the committee informed the court that it had collected answer sheets, question booklets and the answer keys.

The committee was creating a database to figure out the similarity of responses or lack thereof for all successful candidates for ascertaining whether it fell into pattern suggesting any foul play.

The committee informed the court that the question papers were being scrutinised to assess rough work done by the candidates in order to form an opinion as to whether questions were attempted genuinely or otherwise.

The committee had, so far, interrogated 24 parents and their children.

The court later adjourned the case for July 14.
