Gujarat MPs to pursue 42 cases pending with the Centre: Modi
Gandhinagar, June 30 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today called for effectively pursuing the state's case for at least 42 issues pending with the Centre in a result-oriented manner.
Addressing a meeting of Member of Parliaments (MPs) here, he said one of the burning issues that hurt the state most was sudden withdrawl of 200 MW Central share of electrity to Gujarat, putting an additional burden of Rs 500 crore on the state industry incurring losses for want of power.
He reiterated his government's stand and explained that there was no scope for confrontation with the Centre on any issue, but the cases had to be pursued in the larger interest of the people.
Other issues related to tax holiday for 409 projects totalling Rs 32,000 crore under various stages of implementation, reducing excise duty on pharmaceutical companies and converting metre gauge into broad gauge.
