Fresh batch of 1578 pilgrims leaves for Amarnath
Jammu, June 30 (UNI) A fresh batch of 1578 pilgrims left today for the holy pilgrimage to Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir amid tight security..
The group, which left from the base camp of MAM stadium Jammu here, included 889 men, 427 women, 63 children and 199 sadhus, officials said.
Despite threats and attacks from terrorist outfits, a large number of pilgrims queue up for their darshan of ''ice Lingam of Lord Shiva'' at the holy cave of Himalaya.
The pilgrims left in a fleet of 54 vehicles, 35 buses, 18 light motor vehicles and one truck from the stadium at 0500 hrs today. UNI HGV ARB RAI1901
