Ranchi, June 30 : The state capital's fire station has a peculiar situation to confront these days--to douse 'Dil ki Aag'.

The fire tenders are reportedly getting umpteen calls with requests tinged with slang words, mainly from Jharkhand and Bihar, using the toll free number of the office (101 2490706), requesting the baffled fire tenders to extinguish the fire in the heart.

The victim of such youthful fancy is Jharkhand's Doranda fire station which since 0600 hrs till 0100 hrs has been receiving calls, saying---'mere dil ki aag bujhaiye'.

Fire station officer S K Verma told UNI today that initially they were not serious about the calls but with the number of calls swelling, the situation turned ugly, disturbing the normal functioning of the office.

''We lodged a complaint with the police and handed over 60 mobile numbers to them,'' he said, adding the callers often used slang language and knew their calls would not be charged.

With such unwanted calls pouring in, the telephone lines got busy, leading to blockade of important calls.

Doranda police said the numbers furnished by the complainant were being investigated.

However, complaints to police have not deterred the callers as the calls continue to pour in till date.
