Fierce gunfight in Kashmir

Srinagar, June 30: A fierce encounter has erupted between the militants and the security forces in Bandipora area of Baramulla district, official sources said today.

They said the gunfight ensued last night after the security forces cordoned off Bandipora town.

The militants, hiding in the area, opened fire on the security forces which was retaliated.

The sources said the gun-battle stopped in the night and later resumed this morning.
