ERA favours liberalised visa regime
Chennai, Jun 30 (UNI) The Executive Recruiters Association (ERA), a non-profit organisation of Indian Executive Recruitment Consulting Firms, today urged the Union Government to initiate certain policy changes for a liberalised visa regime and new rules on service tax.
Addressing a press conference here today, Mai Foi Management Consultants Limited Managing Director K Pandia Rajan said the national conference would discuss key issues like Emigration Act, which was still pending with the Centre, and also constitution of a Manpower Export Promotion Council to create an identity for the Indians seeking employment overseas.
" A discipline should be brought in with regard to overseas employment, which was right now completely jeopardised. Overseas employment from India would rise to over one billion in the near future. The Emigration Act and liberalised visa regime will enable the employees easy movement across the globe", he said.
Mr OPandia Rajan said the ERA's first National Conference would be held here on July seven in which topics like" Changing times of BPO recruitment", "Challenges of Trendsetter" and "Interim employment opportunities for women" would be discussed.
