Enforcement Directorate denies Jagat's allegations
New Delhi, June 30 (UNI) The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) today denied allegations made by Mr Jagat Singh regarding investigations conducted into the Volcker Committee report on the Oil-for-food progrmme, saying these were in accordance with the law and not influenced by any person or extraneous factors.
The allegations were made by Mr Singh, son of former external affairs minister K Natwar Singh, in the course of a TV channel interview aired today.
The Directorate in a statement said, "Normally, the Directorate of Enforcement does not respond to such media reports. However, in this case, since the allegations have been made earlier and repeated again, denying the allegations, the Directorate of Enforcement has categorically stated that all investigations in this matter have been conducted strictly in accordance with the law, uninfluenced by any person or extraneous factors."
