Congress supporter killed by rivals in AP

Mahbubnagar, June 30 (UNI) A Congress activist and supporter of Balanagar mandal Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency candidate was allegedly attacked and murdered by TDP activists near Nakrepally village here today.

When Congress activists Raju, Gopal and others were canvassing through a car, they were chased near Nakrepally by a van allegedly belonging to TDP. A group of persons came out of the van and attacked Raju and others. Raju died on the spot and Gopal sustained serious injuries, according to sources.

Later, Congress activists staged a 'rasta roko' near Nakrepally village in protest against the killing. However, with the intervention of district leaders, the agitators were pacified.

Meanwhile, police has picked up five persons in connection with the murder.
