CM orders probe into custodial deaths
Chandigarh, June 30 (UNI) Taking cognizance of news reports about two alleged custodial deaths, one of a Ferozpur youth in police custody and the other of police highhandedness leading to a dalit woman delivering a still born baby in Majitha, Punjab Chief Minister Capt.
Amarinder Singh today ordered a magisterial inquiry into both the cases.
''The guilty will not be spared,'' Capt Singh today told the police authorities at both Ferozepur and Majitha and expressed anguish and concern over the incidents, an official spokesman said.
The authorities were instructed to hold the probe and submit a detailed report within a week, he said.
The Chief Minister also reiterated his firm resolve that elements who disturb the law and order in the state would be dealt with severely and laxity in administration would not be tolerated.
