Chargesheet against former NDMC chairperson in illegal licence case

New Delhi, June 30 (UNI) The CBI today filed a chargesheet against a former chairperson and three other senior officials of the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) in connection with the issuing of illegal licence to 'Centre Point' hotel in 2003.

Ms P M Singh, then chairperson NDMC, in collusion with Chief Medical Officer R Pal, Medical Officer (Health) G S Thind, Sanitary Inspector Raj Kumar Gupta had illegally issued a licence to 'Centre Point' hotel owner Kasturi Lal Bhatia for running the hotel.

The accused had shown the hotel as a Health Centre/Lodging House, while issuing the licence in January 2003 through false documents.

Investigations revealed that the land, on which the hotel was being run on K G Marg, was earmarked for residential purpose and the NDMC had cancelled its health licence earlier.
