Canara Bank crosses significant milestone in global business

Bangalore, June 30 (UNI) The public sector major, Canara Bank, in its centenary year, has achieved a significant milestone by crossing the Rs 200,000 crore mark under global business.

A bank release here today said at the end of the first quarter of the current financial year, it had registered a total business aggregating to about 201,600 crore, comprising Rs 122,900 crore (Provisional) under deposits and Rs 78,700 crore (Provisional) under advances.

The Bank had been ranked number one among nationaliSed banks under aggregate business for the financial year ending March 2006.

It had set a target of achieving aggregate business level of Rs 233,000 crore by the end of the current financial year, the release added.
