Bhajan Lal's son seeks debate on Reliance issue

Hisar, June 30 (UNI) Continuing his tirade against his own party's government, Haryana Congress president Bhajan Lal's MP son Kuldeep Bishnoi today dared it to go in for an open debate on the Rs 40,000 crore SEZ deal with the Reliance.

''I seek an open debate on the issue of Reliance MoU with the Haryana govt. This agreement is against the interests of the state and its people,'' said the Congress MP while talking to newspersons at his residence here.

He alleged that ''some influential people in the government were favouring the RIL for personal benefits''.

He regretted that the Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) would provide jobs to 75 per cent persons from outside the state which could have been offered to residents of Haryana had the state administration kept the entire project in its own hands.

Mr Bishnoi also observed that arable land should not have been given for this mega project as it would create problems for the agriculture sector in state in the long run.
