Army provides Jaipur Foot to 22 landmine victims in S Lebanon
New Delhi, June 30 (UNI) In a noble gesture, the India Army today provided Jaipur Foot (artificial limb) to 22 landmine victims residing in Indian Battalion areas of operations in South Labanon.
The articial limbs were sponsored by Bhagwan Mahavir Viklang Sahayta Samiti (BMVSS).
On the occasion, Maj Gen Alain Pellegrini, Force Commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), said it was the determination and coordination of the Indian Battalion that made the project successful.
Phase-II of the project will be undertaken for similar landmine victims by this year-end, a Defence Ministry release here said.
