Jaunpur, June 30 (UNI) Under a unique step to check corruption in the district, all government employees will have to mention the cash-in-hand amount at the time of entering and leaving the official premises on a daily basis.

District Magistrate Anurag Yadav has directed all government offices to keep a separate register for the purpose, so that the order comes into force by July 5.

All government employees, including officials, will make entries twice daily -- on reporting for duty and on leaving after duty hours.

The department heads have also been asked to give evidence that such an arrangement comes into force within the stipulated time.

Talking to UNI here, Mr Yadav said it was aimed at checking corruption in government departments, since some employees take bribe openly.

However, the DM also held the general public responsible for the graft menance. Meanwhile, the local people have appreciated this initiative.
