Andhra Pradesh's Vinayak Sharma and M Divija win AITA titles

Gurgaon, June 30 (UNI) It turned out to be Andhra Pradesh's day as Kaza Vinayak Sharma and M Divija overpowered their fancied rivals to claim the boys and girls titles respectively in the AITA Super Series Junior Tennis tournament here today.

In the boys U-16 final Kaza Vinayak Sharma halted the giant killing spree of Chandigarh's Shiva Sangawan in a tough encounter.

Shiva, who beat top seed Parul Verma earlier in the tournament, put up a good fight in the first set but Sharma managed to down him in the tie breaker to take a 1-0 lead. In the second set the Andhra boy outlasted his rival to emerge 7-6 (5), 6-4 winner.

In the Girls U-16 final, M Divija made it a grand double for Andhra as she staged a fine come from behind rally to beat the fancied Tanvi Shah of Maharashtra 3-6, 6-3, 6-0.
