After tomatoes, Delhi govt to sell Moong and Urad at Rs 38/kg

New Delhi, Jun 30 (UNI) Delhi government will sell two popular varieties of pulses that were selling at more than Rs 50 per kg in the market, at controlled price of Rs 38 a kg from July 4.

The state government would sell 'Moong dhuli' and 'Urad dhuli' at Rs 38 a kg, which were fetching Rs 52 and Rs 54 per kg in the open market, from Tuesday, Delhi Chief Minister said after a meeting with representatives of three pulses wholesale dealers associations at her residence this evening.

These would be sold through 70 circles (centres) of the Food and Civil Supplies Department.

Delhi government would purschase the pulses at Rs 37 per kg from the wholesale dealers before selling at Rs 38 a kg.

If needed, the state government would also consider selling the pulses through mother dairy booths across the capital.

Food and Civil Supplies Minister R K Chauhan and Industries and Labour Minister M R Singhal, besides senior officials of the F&CS department were present at the meeting.
