Wage Board for journalists within a month: Labour Minister

Hyderabad, June 29 (UNI) Union Labour Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao has assured the journalists and non-journalists that the much awaited wage board would be constituted within a month from now.

Mr M A Hashmi, President of the Hyderabad Union of Journalists told UNI that he met the Union Minister yesterday here and reminded him about the representation the union had given a month ago and the assurance given by him.

Mr Hashmi said the Union Minister told him that he was very much concerned about the welfare of newspaper employees and would certainly constitute the Wage Board within a month. He said the Minister also said that he was looking into complaints from journalist unions that even the recommendations of the earlier Wage Board were not being implemented by some news papers.
