Sugar prices rally on lesser stocks arrival by mills

Navi Mumbai, June 29 (UNI) Spot sugar wholesale prices rallied on increased bulk consumers demand in the face of lesser stocks supply by mills, traders at the sugar market said today.

Prices of small and medium grades hiked by Rs 15 and Rs five per quintal respectively on lack of offers by stockists in view of reduced stocks arrivals from co-operative mills.

Similarly, ex-mill prices of same varieties also gained by Rs 20 for small variety and for medium grade by Rs five per quintal in line with open market prices.

Following were the spot sugar wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade Rs 1,840/1,875, medium grade Rs 1,870/1,930.

Ex-mill small grade Rs 1,820/1850 and medium grade Rs 1,850/1,875.
