Soldier kills officer in Kashmir

Srinagar, June 29 (UNI) A soldier killed a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) after an altercation over some matter at Tragabal in border area of Gurez in north Kashmir today, official sources said.

They said JCO Randhir Singh entered into an altercation with soldier Bhagwan Dandva over some matter.

After a heated argument between the two, Dandva opened fire on the JCO with his service weapon, the sources added.

They said the JCO of 34 medium regiment posted in Tragabal, Gurez, died on the spot.

On hearing the gunshots, the other soldiers rushed to the spot and over-powered Dandva. He was later arrested and the Army has started the investigations.

Police have also registered a case in this connection.
