Six naxals killed

Raipur, June 29 (UNI) At least six naxalites are suspected to have been killed in a shootout with CRPF commandos, while three ultras, including a woman, were arrested at Utala in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur Police District, police said.

On a tip-off, CRPF commandos cordoned off the area and launched an offensive yesterday, a spokesperson for state police headquarters said.

Large quantity of rice and detonators were seized.

Some extremists managed to escape. Police were combing the area for tracking down other ultras.

However, bodies of naxals were not recovered, the spokesperson said.
