Shalinitai Patil dares NCP to take action against her
Sangli, Maharashtra, June 29 (UNI) NCP legislator Shalinitai Patil has warned that if she was removed from the party, they would repent.
Addressing a rally here yesterday, Ms Patil said any action against her would adversely affect the NCP.
Justifying her stand, she reiterated that reservations should given to those who are economically backward. Time has come to teach a lesson to those who are playing caste-based politics, She added.
Ms Patil, the widow of former Maharashtra chief minister asantdada Patil, also criticised the Republican Party of India-Athawale(RPI-A) leader and MP Ramdas Athawale for his criticism against her.
She said she was not interested in ministerial post or any other position but was campigning to avoid division of the society on the basis of caste.
During the rally, two RPI activists attempted to immolate themselves, but their attempt was foiled by the police.
