Sensex up 155 pts, trades at 10,285 level

Mumbai, June 29: The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) sensitive index (Sensex), inspired by the strong performance of other Asian markets, has gained 155 points in the intra-noon trade today and is currently trading at 10,285 points.

All the sectoral indices on the BSE were in the green led by BSE midcap. It was followed by auto, IT, metals and Capital goods sectors.

Major gainers on the index were RIL which gained 2.2 per cent to Rs 1,023. Among other gainers were Tata Motors by 3.3 per cent to Rs 766.50, Maruti Udyog by 3 per cent to Rs 747, Hero Honda by 2.6 per cent to Rs 777, ICICI Bank by 0.6 per cent to Rs 492, HDFC Bank by nearly 4 per cent to Rs 755.

Housing finance major HDFC surged 3 per cent to Rs 1083, L&T gained 3 per cent to Rs 2,135, Gujarat Ambuja Cements rose 2.4 per cent to Rs 95.70, Grasim gained 1.9 per cent to Rs 1,838 and ACC advanced 1.2 per cent to Rs 755.
