New Delhi, June 29 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati today accused her political rivals of being behind what she called ''exaggerated reports'' in the media about lavish expenditure on construction of her house in Badalpur village neighbouring Delhi.

She announced that she would sue a national Hindi daily for Rs 200 crore for publishing these reports.

After taking a team of reporters round her house in the village, she said, '' now you can yourself see that reports about my stately mansion are totally baseless, malicious and aimed at tarnishing my image.'' Moreover, Ms Mayawati said the house was not owned by her but was an ancestral property owned by her father.

She said all the ''misinformation'' was being dessiminated keeping an eye on the coming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.

People in the state were fed up of the 'Goonda Raj' of the Samajwadi Party, which has sensed their mood and was bent on using all kind of tactics to malign the BSP leaders, she alleged and cautioned the media about such designs.
