PSEB wins Electricity Board athletic championship

Chandigarh, June 29 (UNI) Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB) emerged winners at the 32nd All India Electricity Board Athletic Championship which concluded at the Sector 7 Sports Complex here today.

PSEB garnered 69 points to lift the trophy while hosts Haryana State Electricity Board finished runners-up with 50 points.Last year's champions Kerala had to satisfy themselves with the third position by logging 20 points.

Middle distance runner Jasvir Singh of PSEB, who claimed gold medals in the 800m, 1500m and 5,000 m races, was declared the best athlete of the championship. Vishal Pathak, also of PSEB, with golds in 200 and 400 metes and silver in 100 metres, emerged the second best athlete in the three-day championship.
