Monsoon playing truant in Kolkata

Kolkata, Jun 29 (UNI) Kolkata woke up to a very uncomfortable morning with a blazing sun beating down on the denizens.

According to the Met office the city has been experiencing a very hot and humid weather since the past few days. The temperature remained close to 34-35 degree Celsius.

Today's high was 33.8 degree Celsius and the minimum 27.3 degree Celsius. The relative humidity was 89 per cent, slightly less than yesterday's.

The Met office, however, added a silver lining predicting a few spells of rain within the next 24 hours.
