Missing police officer found buried in Manipur

Imphal, Jun 29 (UNI) N Kumar, a Sub-Inspector with Manipur Police who had been missing since March 16, was allegedly found buried by the police at Heingangching Haotal here last night.

The highly decomposed body was sent to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) for post mortem.

Police said one Md Dilawar identified the place where the body was buried in a sitting position and hands tied at the back. It was kept about four to five feet deep. The grieved family members were shocked to see the body.

Residents of Thoubal district have been demanding the arrest of those involved in the 'barbaric' act.

However, no organistion has taken responsibility of the incident.

Police has detained a few persons, including a woman, involved in the incident.
