IPL Plans to diversify into power, water

Hyderabad, June 29 (UNI) Amid plans to foray into Power and Water, Indu Projects Limited (IPL) a turnkey solution provider for Infrastructure Development, today announced that it is strategically focussing at structuring its operational and business model, to achieve a turnover of Rs 1,000 crore by 2007.

It is now concentrating on a market-ecology-fit business mix encompassing realty, construction, Built-Operate-Transfer(BOT) projects as well as end-to-end solutions comprising transaction management, project management, construction management and asset services.

The company has formed four separate Strategic Business Units (SBUs)--Construction, Realty, Realty Infra and BOT and Special Projects--each of which will be operationally independent and be responsibile for building and nurturing the relative business and achieving a healthy growth in the bottomlines.

Speaking on the strategic structuring of its business, IPL Managing Director I Syam Prasad Reddy told the media here that the company, which posted a turnover of Rs 312 crore in 2005-2006, had an order book of Rs 6,000 crore.

The Company was looking out for joint venture with MNCs for the state-of-the-art construction technologies. Currently operating in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra, the company, which has 2,000 acres of land plans to expand its operation in Chennai, Coimbatore, Visakhapatnam and Mysore through partnerships and strategic allies, he added.
