India NGO Award initiative
Kolkata, June 29 (UNI) An international organisation, The Resource Alliance committed to helping non-profit organisations attain financial sustainability, has initiated 'The India NGO Award 2006' to reward successful resource mobilisation practices.
Supported by 'The Nand and Jeet Khemka foundation', the award has been instituted to recognise non-profit organisations for setting standards in resource mobilisation, accountability and transparency.
Child In Need Institute(CINI) is the partner for the award in eastern India and will carry a prize money of Rs 16 lakhs.
Mr Simon Collings, Chief Executive Officer, Resource Alliance said such events would encourage all including corporate sector to support the underprivileged for a better tomorrow.
CINI's assistant director Partha Roy said the awards would help elevate the transparency and credibility of NGO's in common people's mind.
The entries received for the India NGO Award 2006 will be divided into four regions- North, South, East and West. Two finalists will be selected from each region and invited to the final award ceremony in Delhi, where the four national winners will be announced.
